We would like to continue, but Mangaholics is willing to do same-day releases and that is too much for us. Their quality right now is not the best, but as happened with us, it will improve as they get new staff. If they fall behind in the future, please don't come ask us for chapters. Dicescans is hereby disbanded, and we go back to being heartless leeches of society. (If you get the reference, kudos to you, sir). We very much look forward to Mangaholics chapters… every Saturday.
And of course, one last shoutout to Splicer, Kfmnpah, Fabio, Sira, Kabuto93, and Xarix.
so no more dice scans? :(
ReplyDeleteNope. But hey, we're not leaving you orphans of DICE. We're leaving you in Mangaholics' hands and they have said their goal are same-day releases. So everyone will get chapters and it will be less work for us! :)

ReplyDeleteThanks Jin. Thanks Splicer. For the past scans
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your hard work. Appreciated it very much.

ReplyDeleteThank you guys. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
ReplyDeleteThank you guys SO MUCH for all the hard work you have put into this for us over the last couple of months! ^___^
ReplyDeleteYou have been appreciated.
ReplyDeleteWe will remember you, lady. MANY THANKS to you, and to those who helped you. Thanks for not letting us down until now.
ReplyDeleteOh that's sad! :( But I understand you fully, greetings from Germany!
ReplyDeleteI'll miss you all. :/ It's nice that you'll be able to do something else AND read your DICE chapter without having to translate/clean/etc it, but it was also fun to talk here and debate with Splicer and see the changes of mood of Jin.
ReplyDeleteAnd just LOL for the leech of society thing, it's not so old but I feel like it's an old memory :p
Well, I'll say it again, I'll miss you.
Muchas gracias por vuestro trabajo!
ReplyDeleteLike the german reader your job has reached Spain too. I have to say tha you had done an excellent job. Its no easy to make a job without bennefits, only leaves the greetings. And at least its the less we could do for you.
Thank you very much!

ReplyDeleteJust want to say thanks for all of your work. Thus far. And wish you luck
ReplyDeleteGod im gonna miss you guys and this site.
ReplyDeleteYou guys were actually down to earth and willing to make changes to benefit everyone.
The very fact this site works amazingly on my phone here is proof of that.
Should you ever decide to get back together. I'll be rooting for you guys too.
If not enjoy the free time now! :)
Thanks you so much for all the work you put while no one else was translating dice, you guys are awesome !
ReplyDeleteWe would like to continue, but Mangaholics is willing to do same-day releases and that is too much for us.
ReplyDeleteCan you not compete with them? I've really really enjoyed coming here for the last couple months because of how consistent you are. I'd much rather come here than a new place.
Too much stress to be worth the attempt. They are a new group, full of stamina and no scruples about redrawing or doing decent typesetting.
DeleteWe were like that in the beginning, but once you settle by a standard of quality, it's very hard to revert to the old ways. One has to sacrifice quality for speed in certain cases.
To compete with Dicescans, we would have not only to forfeit redrawing as we did in the last chapter we released, we would have to compromise our typesetting. And the difference in release time would be very small.
Much better to let Mangaholics deal with it. Unless they are absolutely dismissive of graphic quality, they will begin to feel uneasy about their own releases and will start to devote time and effort to improve them. Then they will probably have to lose speed.
Then holidays will end, depending of which country the staff live in, and that will bring about other constraints. It will be good learning for them to understand that sometimes delays simply happen.
Then another newcoming group may snatch away the series again, and thus scanlation moves forward.
Both Jin and I scanlated out of necessity. She started as a gift to a friend and decided to continue when it was clear that Lonemanga wasn't making a dent in the backlog. We cleared the backlog and made things easier: Mangaholics seized the opportunity. Who can blame them?
Now we can relax and chapters will come out in a timely manner. We'll have to cope with the low quality until they get people who can redraw and typeset properly, but at least we'll know what happens next in the series. Importantly, their translation is decent, and that's essential for a good reading experience.
Thanks for all your work on DICE!
ReplyDeleteMan, it feels horrible to press the 'x' Button on this Tab. I've been checking for chapters pretty much daily and I loved your work. It's sort of making me sad but I guess I'll- sadly- forget about it in no time. I'm still grateful to all of you, I think this comic is right now my favorite of all time.
ReplyDeleteI haven't wrote a lot I think this is my second comment on here, but anyways, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!
Was a great time being here, see you again hopefully <3
This is my first, and likely my only, comment, but I wanted to thank you for all your hard work. I appreciated your work, and was grateful that you were willing to translate this wonderful piece of art. May your future endeavors be successful. You will be missed.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your continued high quality updates of DICE, it is upsetting to see this page go. I enjoyed Jin's sarcastic rants almost as much as DICE itself & you all seem like well thought-out hardcore fans of the work & your work on it. I am glad you're now able to take a back seat & enjoy the work in your own times :] thank you again!
ReplyDeleteNo...I am so sad. I loved your work. Thank you for everything, it has been fun.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Good luck with school Jin.
This is so sad to hear. I found this site around chapter 55, and I've been here ever since. I'll miss everyone who worked on this - Jin, Splicer, and eveyone else: I'll never forget the work you put in this. And this has not only spread to Germany, France and Spain, but also to the snowy norths of Sweden. I just want to mention that I, and probably many others too, prefer quality over speed. I never have time to check for DICE updates until Mondays/Tuesdays anyway, and reading with good quality matters so much more for me. I know this'll change nothing though, and it makes me pretty glad to know too. You're finally having time to do whatever you want, and you don't have to feel the stress anymore. Good luck in life Jin, and may you always remember your time here!
ReplyDeleteTo Mangaholics, I wish you good luck too with finding staff, and I look forward to reading DICE on your site!
thank you and love you alll :') I've read DICE maybe since chapter 60 (?) in this web and now I have to say goodbye.. see you again & thank you! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for alll your hard work. I really enjoy this series, and your releases were great :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for all you guys have done. This place will always hold a special place in my soul.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the hard work and effort you guys put in this project. The quality was great! I always love reading your stuff. Oh and this website spread to the Netherlands to :)
ReplyDeleteaww maaannn, I really enjoyed the dicescans community :c
ReplyDeleteAre you guys on any forums? I want to read more Splicer comments :'(
Thank you for everything you've done!
Thanks for the kind words. Actually, I comment much more on DICE at the discussion forum at Mangahelpers.
Deleteman, i'm still checking this site on a daily base cause i dont want to believe it :( it was somewhat special around here. thanks everyone.
ReplyDeletethis sounds like someone died, hahaha..
Agradezco tu trabajo ( real mente estaba bien echo y eras el que iba mas cercano a la pagina coreana), fue un gusto leer toda la segunda temporada hasta aquÃ.
ReplyDeleteaunque te vas cuando se viene lo mejor.
i still go here everyday :'(
ReplyDeleteHahaha, same here. Still coming here. Don't know why. x)
ReplyDeleteI know this blog is mainly built around DICE, but now that there have been other Manhwas that have been voted to be translated, is it not possible for a shift towards those?
ReplyDeleteVery appreciate the work that has been done! Thank you.
i guess you guys noticed, but mangaholics.net already failed with their "same-day-releases".. its not that i demand fast chapters, i'm in no position to do so. but when they announce same-day-releases, competing dicescans.com and making you quit.. i dont know, it sucks. they suck. the fact that everyone have to depend on them sucks. you should have never quit :( you should have never trusted hollywood
ReplyDeleteIf Jin kept releasing alongside Mangaholics, I'm sure they would keep up the pace just to beat Jin.
DeleteThey are only slacking because there is noone else to compete with them. They must be thinking "there is noone else working on Dice so who cares if we release later".
IDK they are now 2 weeks behind on Mangaholics even though somebody released last weeks this weeks has yet to have been posted anywhere as far as i know. Jin was it you? You sneaky little
Deleteplease, someone hack them -.- i just cant stand this behaviour
ReplyDeleteLMFAO
Delete/sigh/ I'm pissed off as well but Jin and team probably won't be coming back. We'll just have to suffer until who knows when.
also the mangaholics site is no longer available on the internet
ReplyDeleteAnyone know where you can get the raw? I could do some google translate and paint work.
