Hi guys.
Don't get excited because as of now I'm not going to pick up DICE again.
Rather, I have a bunch of old translations for some webcomics I thought some of you may be interested in. This isn't all of them, but I labeled them all differently in random folders (what was I thinking back then, sigh) so it's a pain to find. I'll post the others when time permits. Well... Enjoy~

ReplyDeleteAre you saying you will switch to one of the other web comics listed if so I would like to see magician the place I originally read it has updated for over a year and other sites are so far behind if you could pick up from "those that live in the past" I would definitely visit
ReplyDeleteI can't really say much as of now because honestly, I don't want to take the responsibility for picking up a new series. I update sporadically because scanslation is a hobby, not an obligation. If I do pick up Magician or whatever it may be, I'll probably post new chapters on Batoto forums, so... yeah.

ReplyDeleteMangaholics could not even keep their same-day release promise for a single week after taking over DICE scanlation from you guys. Moreover, their quality is terrible since the typesetting is shoddy and there is no redrawing involved whatsoever. Even the admin himself stated that he does not have the time to improve his skills so the releases will not improve. It's also unlikely that the site will be able to recruit any new staff in the foreseeable future mostly because of the hate and general ill will they are experiencing right now. They started a poll today as to whether they should drop DICE and I was just wondering if you guys would pick up the series again if they did drop it? Looking forward to your response whether it's a yes or no. Thanks Jin!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I rather have slower releases and better quality to the work. I would understand if the Mangaholics guy got slower in a month or something, but he couldn't even keep it up for a week. Hope you can reconsider, Jin. Thanks for your previous great work!

DeleteI honestly can't say if I can pick up DICE. Had Mangaholics said so sooner, I probably could have stuck around a little longer, but my scanslation life is at its end.
DeleteA long long time ago in a post far far away (sorry I couldn't help it) I mentioned that I'd be around till Chapter 90 or so. After that, I couldn't guarantee anything.
I will look into my schedule, though :) I just sneezed all over the computer. Gaah
IF they actually drop DICE... i could (maybe) do some minor cleaning and typesetting (dont know if i can redraw...) but what i cannot do is translate... if i could get the translated text i would help with the typeset and minor clean... or anything else i could help... y'know... cant warranty sameday work, maybe 3-4 days delay... but i assume that even this would be better than nothing at all or false promises lulz... (consider it an offer for help in whatever i can)

DeleteIf Jin decides ever to pick it up again (I don't exactly recommend it unless Mangaholics cannot put their game together), I still have her back and the old team is also not far away. She just needs to snap her fingers.
Leecher life is very relaxing, so it's not time to do anything just yet, in my opinion.

DeleteWe scanlated the chapter. Fábio will redraw it as soon as he can, starting a couple of hours from now. We'll also announce plans for the future in case we reach a decision by then.

DeleteWell, we don't have a decision yet. Jin has her school stuff coming. It's strange to go back to something when you have already abandoned that mindset… we expected to be enjoying our weekly fix of DICE with decent quality by now (not Jin, she reads the raws XD).
We really did this chapter because, well, it's Thursday, Mangaholics seems down, we worked like slaves to clear the backlog and the very thought of a new backlog accumulating is too appalling for us to stay quiet.
This chapter is redraw-heavy, but Fábio is working hard and two-thirds of the pages that need redrawing have been done as of this writing. I am going to sleep soon, so Jin will probably coordinate the release with Fábio.
Go easy on us this time. We started working on this about eight hours ago, so mistakes may have slipped through.
Did and done(It was basically a lineart and a character without background, I can do that easily in 2 days, I just said I was busy because at the time I wasn't finished yet- shortly after, the page went down :/). Commisions are important, so I keep them done as soon as I can. I get money for it, so I need to get it done quickly. (Obviously quality goes before speed, but they were happy with it, and I was happy with it )

I just offered the same help I did with mangaholics. But he seemed to ragequit, which is a shame, I would've given him the chance. I thought I'd just tell you, that I'm willing to help because if i remember correct, a while ago you needed redrawers(I was quite busy back then hence I didn't comment)
