ReplyDeleteReally surprised to learn City of Dead Sorcerer didn't make it into the top 3 with the huge number of votes it had. But regardless, as long as you continue to do DICE I'm happy.

DeleteVotes weren't the only criterion, as you can see in the "Manhwa" post. Size of the backlog and Jin's own interest, for example, also played a role.
Well of course votes weren't the only criterion, but if you look at the algorithm Jin posted, votes were the only factor there that had a multiplicative effect for each vote their was. I'm not going to go back and count them, but I believe there were around 8 to 16 votes total for CoDS. This would equal somewhere between 12 and 24 points being added on to the point total. Even if Jin somehow had zero interest in the series, going just off of the algorithm he posted, CoDS should easily still have made into the top three.
DeleteNow I'm not trying to say that Jin should do series that he's not interested in. Even if he ultimately decided not to use the posted algorithm to rank the suggested series, that's also fine. I'm just saying it's very surprising to me if he DID use the algorithm that he posted, that CoDS did not make it into the top three.
Anyway, I'll take this opportunity to thank Jin, you, and Kfnmaph for your work on DICE thus far. Like I said before, I'm happy regardless of what other series Jin picks up as long as he continues to work on DICE.
