Well, folks,
we have discussed it and, for the time being, you can count on us for same-week releases to prevent a backlog from accumulating again.
However, we will do things at a pace that does not cause us distress, sleepless nights and major detours from routine life. Especially because Jin has lots of things on her plate already and more coming.
Without going into details of our scanlation pipeline, suffice it to say that you can look forward to mid-to-late week releases. Our goal will be, of course, to release a chapter before the next one is out, so even late Friday releases are not out of the table.
Earlier releases are possible, but please regard them as freebies and not as normality.
Beyond chapter 90, we will have to weigh our options. An extra translator to share work with Jin would make things easier (hint, hint!)
Needless to say, we won't race anyone. If another speedscanner, or even a proper scan beats us to releases, we will in all likelihood cease our operations again, and this time a revival will be much less likely because, as you well know, chapter 90 is approaching.
what is so special about chapter 90? and thanks for doing this besides dont stress out on same day releases i always check this place everyday even when you have an release day
ReplyDeleteChapter 90 is when Jin originally said she would end her commitment to scanlation due to real life constraints.

DeleteThanks for offering support, but Jin has always said this place is "holy ground" - no donations, no advertising. Blogger is inexpensive (and the dicescans.com domain name was kindly bought and given to her by Fruit of Webtoons Reader). And Death Toll Scans hosts our releases on their foolSlide reader, so we have no need for software or whatever. We're good, we do that just because we like the series.

ReplyDeleteQuick releases are nice and of course i hope you release as fast as possible.. No need to get stressed about it though. you picked it up when nobody else did, quality is good and you guys are telling things as they are. That, to me at least, is good enough.
ReplyDeleteEven if you don't release at lightning speed i know you are reliable and passionate, and that ill have another chapter to look forward to whenever you guys get it ready. And you even build quite a nice community around your releases. Thanks for the hard work and keep it up. From a heartless, generally not commenting on anything, leech of society ;).
Here another leech of society, you really don't have to rush yourselves, I think people value much more honesty and awesomeness over speed, sure people like quick scans, but do they really care about the people behind? That's an other story.

ReplyDeleteI am speaking for everyone when I say that "we love your work and commitment". I was really sad when you stopped scanlating because of a fast-scanlation group, but as well I could understand your reasons. Certainly, the work you do here is non-profit and just for the sake of dice fans and the promotion of dice itself. We will always be more than glad to see your work because you all have showed us compromise. Don't pressure yourselves, and keep on with your own pace. Thanks for everything up til now :)

ReplyDeleteNo, chapter 90 marks the time when it will become more difficult for Jin to keep translating this series. However, we're trying to think of solutions.
Deletedont stop scanlating after 90 please even if we have to wait the whole week for chapters but if you choose to do so hey whatever makes ya happy, its just in my opinion is that this whole mangaholics thing teach us is that speedscanlation leads to a fast burnout and if some other speedscanlator pops out, probably wont be as steady as you guys.
