Yeah, we debated a lot whether we should make that translation literal, and in the end decided to go for it. In essence the students are just thinking the sight before them is totally weird.
Anyone else with me on the fact that it feels like something fishy is about to happen, I think X is gonna make part of the attacker or neutral team the target for one of the rounds.
Just caught up with the series and it's getting better and better. I was cheering for Dongtae the whole time. Not just because he has stuck with his beliefs this whole time even though it would've been so easy to call it quits. In fact, a dozen or so chapters back, he displayed a very rare sight in the webtoon/manga/anime world. He, a teenager, actually decided to act maturely for once and decided to sort out his feeling toward Mio and Eunju before committing himself to either one of them. In 99% of works with a teenager as a main character, he would've "followed what his heart is telling him to do" and everything would've magically turned out well for him, usually through some poorly written Deus Ex Machina. Not this series, though. Here, actions have consequences for once. But one thing I'm disliking is the increasingly large cast of characters. I really hope it doesn't turn out like Bleach in terms of characters. And since I've caught up, I have to wait a week for every chapter. I don't think I can handle it with all the cliffhangers.
Yes, the sense the main characters show is one of the things I like about this series. Eunju, Taebin, Mio and Dongtae (in that decreasing order, more or less) have thought many of the issues through. And where they haven't, it's perfectly understandable given the circumstances. Dongtae is naïve regarding Dice, but he is a very mature young man otherwise.
I wouldn't worry so much about the size of the cast. I think the author needed more characters so he can explore the full range of A-Rank skills. We can tell that the War had been planned, in terms of the plot, by the author quite in advance, because the change in rules was mentioned for the first time in the Light and Darkness Arc more than 50 chapters ago. So I believe the manhwaga is in full control of his game.
And if you think about it, other than the core five (the four above plus X), the cast has just some seven people: Professor Kim, Daewoong, Samsusaeng, Mooyoung, Choi-hyun, Hyunjo and Hood. Counting the ones who died and the flashback characters, the whole 100-chapter series has had less than 20 characters so far, most of whom only served a purpose during a specific arc.
In Ch. 94 (I think) Dongtae says "Dice are..." Then in this chapter Eunju says "To me..Dice are.." For some reason, all I wanna know right now is what they really wanna say even though we somewhat know where they both stand already (thanks to splicer's explanations).
Anywho, glad your back Jin! I hope the exams went well for you! Thanks a lot to the whole team too!
Thanks a lot. The series is getting really interesting now. I can't wait to see how Dongtae deals with Mooyoung and what Eunju is planning with that die she took.
I just noticed something. Why the hell would X need to rest during the break time between the first and second period? It's far-fetched but maybe he's the source of power for the Dice. So Dongtae, Mask guy and who knows how many people spamming Dice, forced X to take a break or something. What do you think?
I think there is too little to support that speculation right now.
X is the laid-back kind, he has taken breaks to read (chapter nine) and complained about being too busy to talk before (chapter ten).
So I think he is really taking just a break, and maybe trolling Dongtae a little.
There is also the fact that the War Quest periods are supposed to match class periods, and if there is a break between classes in South Korean school, there must be a break between quests.
Sorry about that one panel. Dunno what happened there...

DeleteThx for the chapter
ReplyDeleteDefense win!
X should give info about the attack team, doesn't he?
Was it after 1 period or the whole game's over.
DeleteAfter the whole game is over.

ReplyDeleteI cheered when defense won. Seriously, Dong Tae put too much into winning this round, I'd have been so disappointed if he'd lost.
